The Emperor and Empress of Japan visited quake victims
Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko visited Wednesday 30 March, a shelter in Tokyo that houses the victims of the earthquake and tsunami hit areas.
The Emperor and Empress talked with refugees and encouraged them. It is the first time since the disaster when the royal family visits the terrible disaster victims.
Emperor and Empress visited a sport complex in the ADAT areawhere they are sheltered 209 evacuees from Iwate Prefecture.
In an unprecedented gesture, the Imperial House has made available to flood victims an imperial building that houses a bathroom at the Nasu Imperial Villa in Tochigi Prefecture.
