Name : JAPAN      
                                                                           
Location:  located  in  north-east Asia,  Japan is  made  of  four  main  islands  (Honshu  -  231 000  km2,  Hokkaido - 83,000  km2  Kyushu and  Shikoku -19 000 -42 000  km2 km² )   and 3,000  small  islands.
 
Climate: air  masses  from the  Pacific  Ocean   generate  high  levels  of  temperature  ( above  30  degrees  Celsius  in  the   center  of  the country )  and  humidity  in  June,  July  and  August.  Place  heavy  winter  snow  falls,  with  especially  on  the  west  coast
 
Japan relief:  mountainous  relief  at  a  rate  of  over  65%  of  the  total  area, about  200  volcanoes,  of  which  109  are  still  active.  The  highest  peak  is Mount Fuji,  3776  m.
 
Neighbours:  Asian  territory  is  closest to  the  Korean  Peninsula located 200  km  away,  having  no  land  borders  with  other  countries.  Closest  neighbors  are:  Eastern  Russia in  the  north-west  over  the  sea  of Okhotsk  and  Japan,  South  Korea  and  North  Korea  in the  west,  across  the Straits  of  Korea,  China  and  Taiwan in  the  south-west  over  East China  Sea.
